The Adobe Scan mobile app is part of the Adobe Acrobat suite of software products – a “scanner in your pocket” offering benefits for both business and consumer users. While Acrobat Pro (the paid version of the software) already had a super-high rate of adoption in the business market, it wasn’t yet widely used by consumers. Adobe saw an unrealized opportunity to grow revenue by selling the value proposition of a digital, paperless workflow to solve problems in the home.
THE CHALLENGE
Making “Business Oriented” Technology Relatable to Consumers
THE SOLUTION
The Digital Family Recipe Book
After brainstorming on various possibilities, we landed on something practically every family can relate to. Cooking and recipes. It’s pretty common to have favorite recipes kept in a variety of places – written on recipe cards, contained within a library of cookbooks, or even on random scraps of paper handed down from generations. What if we could show people how to use Adobe Scan and Acrobat Pro to consolidate all their recipes in an editable PDF, both for for reference at home and to easily share with family and friends?
We approached celebrity chef Tyler Florence of television’s Food Network, who has a both a huge following and a warm, relatable personality. He loved the idea, and agreed to star in a video, to be created by our award-winning film/video production team, in which he demonstrates the use case while cooking up some of the dishes shown in the recipes. This gave us his validation as well as amplification to his millions of followers on Instagram, Facebook, TV, and beyond.
To make the video even more authentic, we filmed in Tyler’s home kitchen rather than in the professional set-up that he usually employs. We wanted to drive home the point that “you too can easily do this at home”.
THE RESULT
Resonance, Engagement, and Downloads
The campaign was a hit. With with amplification to Tyler’s millions of followers on social media, driving to a dedicated campaign landing page on adobe.com. Teaming up with Tyler proved to be the secret ingredient that helped us deliver delicious results in downloads for Adobe.
